constellr Expands European Footprint, Establishes Entity in Toulouse

Big earth observation (EO) data company constellr sets up its French operations in Toulouse, home to France’s leading space technology cluster. With deep geospatial, IT and aerospace expertise and a significant agricultural sector, the region offers constellr numerous opportunities for growth, R&D and commercial collaboration.

As constellr prepares for the launch of its first commercial satellite Skybee-1 (HiVE), it also gears up for the scale-up of its product portfolio and data science capabilities. France offers not only access to a diverse supply chain to enable future space infrastructure innovation but also an exceptional talent base with which to drive cutting edge EO product development.

Setting up operations in France means constellr can accelerate its product roadmap, offering high resolution thermal data to enhance customer decision-making in agricultural and infrastructure sectors. The team has formed strong partnerships with premier French research organizations in the region to expedite knowledge transfer and support with data validation. One of the first major activities the team will undertake in the region will be the development of an automated drought stress detection model, combining artificial intelligence models with constellr’s high resolution thermal imagery layer.

constellr is currently recruiting for a Managing Director, to be based in Toulouse, to lead its commercial and governmental relations in France. The company is also supporting doctoral research through France’s Cifre scheme and working with regional educational institutions to help nurture and attract top talent essential for establishing the company’s product R&D base in the region.
